Houston rapper Judy World killed in stabbing; woman charged with manslaughter

HOUSTON – A woman has been charged in the fatal stabbing of Houston rapper Judy World in southeast Houston, according to court records.

The stabbing was reported around 9:55 a.m. Saturday in the 11900 block of Bat Sheva Lane.

The suspect, 28-year-old Kayla Wynita Rodgers, is charged with manslaughter in the death of 28-year-old Krystal Jordan.

Family and friends identified Jordan by her stage name, Judy World.

What happened

Responding Houston police officers found a bystander providing first aid to Jordan, who was suffering from stab wounds.

Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Jordan to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Officers said Rodgers remained at the scene and was detained without incident.

Rodgers was booked into the Harris County Jail.

Family members said Jordan leaves behind a 10-year-old daughter.
