Northeast officers were called to the Pemex station on Kress around 10 p.m.; the son is in custody and charges are pending

HOUSTONHouston police are investigating a shooting that left a man critically injured after an argument with a family member Friday night, according to authorities.

HPD northeast officers were called around 10 p.m. last night to the Pemex gas station at 747 Kress Street.

Investigators said a father and son got into a verbal dispute that turned physical, and the son pulled out a gun and fired, striking his father. The number of times the father was shot was not immediately known; he was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The son, described as being in his late teens or early 20s, was taken into custody. Charges are pending further investigation and will be reviewed by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, police said.
