HOUSTON – Houston Methodist Hospital has once again been named the No. 1 hospital in Texas, marking the 15th consecutive year it has earned the top statewide ranking from U.S. News & World Report.
The hospital also secured a spot on the publication’s prestigious Honor Roll for the 10th time, recognizing it among the nation’s top-performing hospitals.

The annual Best Hospitals rankings evaluate thousands of hospitals across the country based on factors including patient outcomes, quality of care, patient experience and hospital reputation. This year’s rankings reviewed 4,494 hospitals nationwide.
Houston Methodist was ranked in 11 specialties, including 10 nationally and one regionally. Six specialties placed in the nation’s top 20, while three earned top-10 rankings.
The nationally ranked specialties include:
- Cancer
- Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery
- Diabetes & Endocrinology
- Gastroenterology & GI Surgery
- Geriatrics
- Neurology & Neurosurgery
- Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Orthopedics
- Pulmonology & Lung Surgery
- Urology
In addition to its specialty rankings, Houston Methodist was rated high performing in 21 of 23 common conditions and procedures evaluated by U.S. News. The designation is awarded to hospitals that perform significantly better than the national average in treating specific conditions and procedures.
Hospital leaders said the recognition reflects more than a century of commitment to patient care, safety and clinical excellence.
