Man dies after getting shot, crashing car into fire hydrant

Officials found man lying face-down in grassy area near wrecked car, HPD says

Police in Houston are investigating a deadly shooting after a man was discovered early Sunday morning with multiple gunshot wounds near a crashed vehicle.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers were called to the 1000 block of Marcolin Street around 3:25 a.m. on April 5 following reports of a shooting.

When they arrived, they found a vehicle that had crashed into a fire hydrant and a man lying face-down in the grass nearby.

Authorities said the victim had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics with the Houston Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

Investigators with HPD’s Homicide Division are leading the case. As of now, officials say there are no known suspects and no clear motive.
