CenterPoint reports thousands of power outages as heavy thunderstorms hit Houston area Entergy also reporting outages
As the Houston area is hit with severe thunderstorms Saturday morning, CenterPoint Energy is reporting thousands of outages in the area.
As of 9:30 a.m. Saturday, CenterPoint is reporting 56,395 customers out of power.

Tornado warnings have been issued in several Houston-area counties, including Harris, Montgomery and Waller.
Entergy has also reported a significant number of outages. You can see those numbers here.
Last night, CenterPoint said it had pre-positioned 1,300 frontline workers and contractors at 12 service centers across the area to quickly respond to any potential impacts to service.
