Pedestrian hit, killed by car on Gulf Freeway shuts down southbound lanes
HOUSTON – A pedestrian was killed early Friday morning, resulting in the southbound lanes of Gulf Freeway shutting down for several hours.

It happened around 3 a.m. on I-45 S near Lockwood and Telephone Road.
Details are limited, as it’s an active investigation, so it’s unclear how many vehicles hit the pedestrian or why they were on the freeway.
HPD had to shut down at Spur 5 while officers conducted their investigation, but reopened just before 8 a.m.
