Man arrested after pregnant mom killed, teen passenger hospitalized in head-on crash in NE Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A mother-to-be was killed Thursday evening after a crash in northeast Harris County and a man has been arrested, accused of fleeing the scene after rear-ending the woman’s vehicle and pushing it into oncoming traffic.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened in the 12300 block of Tidwell at CE King Pkwy, a little after 8:30 p.m.

Deputies said a woman in her 20s driving a red Mustang had her car rear-ended by a truck, sending her into oncoming traffic before getting into a head-on crash with another truck hauling a trailer. She died at the scene, and further investigations revealed she was two to three months pregnant. Authorities identified the woman as Gloria Guevera, 22.

A 16-year-old passenger, also in the car, was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries and remains hospitalized Friday.

Investigators were looking for a white truck they say fled the scene after rear-ending the woman’s vehicle. They released a photo of the truck Friday afternoon.
