Body found in Buffalo Bayou after police chase involving stolen vehicle

Houston police have confirmed they have found a body after suspects fled into Buffalo Bayou following an early morning police chase involving a stolen vehicle.

The chase began around 2:15 a.m. near South Jensen Drive when Houston police attempted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle.

The driver refused to stop, sparking a 19-minute pursuit through the city that ended near Buffalo Bayou.

According to investigators, four suspects exited the vehicle and leapt into the water.

Officers quickly apprehended two suspects, while a third was caught after attempting to evade police.

The fourth suspect remained missing after disappearing into the water. Houston Fire Department crews and the HPD dive team conducted a search, and a body was located hours later.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased. All suspects involved are believed to be between the ages of 19 and 20.
