Police said witnesses saw the man driving a white Chevrolet Impala at a high rate of speed when he struck a dip in the road at the intersection of Crane Street, causing him to lose control. Police said the man swerved to the left, struck a ditch and then a tree before the car stopped.

Sky 2 was over the scene and it showed that the car left the road, traveled through a front yard and struck a tree in between two homes.

The man was taken to Lyndon B. Johnson, where he was pronounced dead.

No other vehicles were involved in the fatal crash, police said.
