Man charged in connection with death of woman found in Houston street

HOUSTON – A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a woman found shot in southeast Houston.

According to police, Guadalupe Toledo Vega, 37, is charged with murder after the body of Morgan Sproles, 20, was found Tuesday by a passerby.

Houston police said officers from the Clear Lake division responded to the discovery, which was reported about 1 a.m. in the 10300 block of Ney Street, near Bronson Street.

Authorities said Sproles was found unresponsive in the road and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators said there was no evidence of a shooting at the scene, so they are trying to determine if the woman’s body was dumped on the street.
