Woman shoots boyfriend after he hits her, police say

Houston police say they are investigating after a woman allegedly shot her boyfriend after he hit her Sunday morning.

The shooting was reported at 3:30 a.m. a home in the 2100 block of Stevens Street.

Police said the couple got into an argument, during which the man allegedly hit the woman.

The girlfriend allegedly grabbed a pistol and shot him, police said.  

The man was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition.

The woman has been detained for questioning.

It’s unclear what, if any, changes she will face.
