HOUSTON – Newly obtained court documents reveal chilling new details in the fatal shooting of a woman in northwest Harris County, including eyewitness testimony from the victim’s son, live audio captured during the attack, and extensive digital evidence investigators say ties the suspect to the killing.
According to court records, investigators identified the suspect as 44-year-old Keith Washington, the estranged husband of the victim.
Washington’s wife was shot and killed last month at a home in the 14100 block of Cypress Falls Drive.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded around 10 p.m. on April 10 to reports of a weapons disturbance at the home.
Investigators said Washington allegedly forced his way inside the residence and opened fire before fleeing the scene.
HCSO sources previously said two children, ages 6 and 18, were inside the home during the shooting but were not physically injured.

New court documents state the victim’s son witnessed part of the attack.
Investigators said the child saw Washington inside the home chasing his wife into a bedroom before hearing gunshots and screaming. The son then reportedly saw Washington flee the residence immediately afterward.
Records also reveal the victim was on a live video call during the attack.
According to investigators, a witness on the call heard the victim yell, “Keith! Keith! I am sorry! We have kids together!” moments before the call abruptly disconnected.
Investigators reportedly found signs of forced entry, including a broken window. A black hat was also found lodged in the window blinds, which detectives believe may have been worn by the suspect during the break-in.
Court filings further state that Washington’s gray 2022 Chevrolet Silverado was captured near the scene by Flock license plate reader cameras around the time of the shooting.
Authorities later tracked the vehicle using OnStar GPS technology and located Washington still inside the truck, according to the documents.
Investigators said a revolver was found inside the vehicle at the time of his arrest. Officials confirmed the weapon was within reach of the driver’s seat when it was discovered.
Detectives obtained warrants for a wide range of records and data connected to Washington’s cell phone and are using the records to reconstruct his movements and communications before, during, and after the killing.
Court documents additionally reference a documented history of domestic violence between the couple and an ongoing divorce.
Investigators stated Washington was not supposed to be at the home at the time of the shooting.
