HOUSTON – Hurricane season kicks off June 1st and while the season is forecasted to be slightly below normal, it only takes one storm to bring devastation to our home city of Houston. Every year we prepare with knowledge and tips, so you know what to do when a storm hits.

This year we dive into how to stay on budget when preparing for hurricane season and reminding you of how hurricanes form and the power of storm surge.

The hurricane special will also recap other impactful weather events that have impacted Texas and the Caribbean in 2025.

We want to hear from you:

  • What questions do you have about hurricanes?
  • Are you cutting trees on your property because of hurricane winds?
  • Is your home in a flood plain and could that mean more insurance cost?

I know you have so many more questions, so now will be your chance; we’ll be answering these questions during the special, but we also want to share your wisdom.

If you’ve lived through a few storms, you’ve likely also learned a thing or two. What’s your best advice for someone new to the area? Your input will help make this show more personal.
