Following violent storms blamed for killing at least three people, Southerners cleared fallen trees from roadways and began cleaning up debris from homes and buildings smashed by suspected tornadoes as forecasters warned more violent weather was likely on the way.

HIGHLANDS, Texas โ A head-on crash in Highlands, Texas, left two adults dead and a toddler hospitalized with broken bones Thursday, Harris County sheriffโs deputies said. Investigators said two Chevy Silverado trucks collided head-on in the 1700 block of South Main Street around 9:51 p.m. Both drivers, a man and a 32-year-old woman, died at the scene, deputies said. โItโs a new year and sadly itโs the same story,โ Sean Teare, with the Harris County District Attorneyโs Vehicular Crimes Task Force said. An adult male, suspected of driving intoxicated, struck an adult female driver (32) head-on.
Homeowner shaken, driver hospitalized after dump truck crashes intro Harris County home
HIGHLANDS, Texas โ A woman is shaken and a man has been taken to a hospital after that man lost control of his dump truck and crashed into an east Harris County home. The incident happened around 2:25 a.m. Thursday on South Main Street near Faith Street in the Highlands area, authorities said. Deputies said the truck was traveling northbound on South Main Street when the driver came across low hanging power lines. Stewart said he told his wife to call 911 and ran outside to check on the driver and his neighbor. She was shaken up.โAuthorities said the driver of the truck was located walking southbound on Main Street towards I-10.
Houston police cruiser involved in crash on South Main Street, causes traffic delays
HOUSTON โ Authorities are working to clear up a crash involving a Houston police cruiser in southwest Houston on Wednesday morning. Police said the crash has caused traffic delays in the area. Officers said the incident happened at around 5:50 a.m. on South Main Street and Fariss Street. This was the second officer-involved crash in Houston Wednesday morning. At around 4 a.m., a Precinct 7 deputy constable was also involved in a crash where the deputyโs patrol vehicle had major front-end damage and a woman was trapped in her car.
