Trucks made their way through the downtown area Friday afternoon, loaded with some essential winter apparel and other items for those in need.

Rapper Trae Tha Truth is known for his philanthropic work across Houston, but now, the world will have the opportunity to see him being honored for those efforts.

That time Trae tha Truth rented an entire gas station to help Houstonians

Trae tha Truth and Relief Gang have been at the forefront of these charitable efforts, and even a week later the rapper and activist is still giving back to his hometown. Trae tha Truth posted a video to Instagram, explaining Relief Gang's plan to rent out a gas station to complete the philanthropic feat. Not only will Relief Gang be providing families with free gas, but they will also be providing free meals and water. Originally, the location wasn't disclosed due to a limited amount of resources, but then Trae tha Truth allowed 150 more families to come by to receive free gas and other necessities. Trae tha Truth and Relief Gang are currently located at the Chevron on the corner of Elgin and Scott.

Trae the Truth and his Relief Gang are once again stepping up for Houstonians in need. The crew partnered with Turkey Leg Hut Monday evening to host a private dinner for more than 100 families in need ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. "Uncle Trae always doing good deeds for the city of Houston," Lyric shared on Instagram. "So, having [Trae the Truth and the Relief Gang] give back to the community as much as they do, it’s such a blessing for everyone, especially during these times." The Relief Gang also handed out more than 300 turkeys and side dishes on Monday.

Community leaders, including Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, were also on hand. The Relief Gang is also planning to give away 200 jackets and hats to families in need this weekend.

LAKE CHARLES, La. – Houston rapper and philanthropist Trae Tha Truth and his Relief Gang are headed to Lake Charles, Louisiana, Friday to assist those in need after Hurricane Laura. “Meet us at Buccee’s in Baytown tomorrow (8/28) at 9am,” he wrote. Thompson has contributed to many efforts recently, including those focused on social injustices. The rapper has been protesting and organizing events centered around justice for Kentucky woman and shooting victim Breonna Taylor and Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen.
