Geneva football, who in just recent years switched to 11-man, faced Division 1/6A Central Catholic last Friday night, and went tooth and nail during the game. The Football team already proved to be competitive after Friday night's game against San Antonio Central Catholic. This quick rise, Boerboom said, can likely be attributed to the proper processes that have been put in place.
Down to the Last Play- Battlin' Billies Win
Boerne- A two-point conversion by Fredericksburg High School in the final play of the game against Boerne sealed the deal to secure them a win. The Battlin' Billies and Greyhounds put on quite a showcase for the fans on Thursday night as the game was a constant back-and-forth from the beginning. Coming out of half time down 7-14, the Battlin' Billies scored with 5:18 left in the 3rd quarter. Despite getting a delay of game penalty, the Battlin' Billies proved their name to be accurate- they battled back for a 25-24 win in what was an exciting Thursday night football game. Boerne Powers By Beeville Jones In Football's Return
The Greyhounds kicked off the UIL's 100th anniversary football season with a signature 42-13 season-opening win against Beeville Jones (0-1) at Boerne ISD Stadium on Friday August 28th. The Boerne Greyhounds received the opening kick and scored on their opening drive to take the early edge. Following a quick Beeville Jones three-and-out, Boerne recorded its second straight scoring drive to extend its lead. Then, Beeville Jones was pushed back on its ensuing drive and fumbled the ball to Will Pearson to set up Boerne at the Trojans' one-yard line. Boerne made its first mistake when it fumbled to Beeville Jones later in the quarter.
