Moscow — Russian opposition leader and fierce Kremlin critic Alexey Navalny was sentenced to three and a half years in prison on Tuesday in a court proceeding that he condemned as politically motivated. He says the attack took place in Russia, on Putin's orders — an allegation the Kremlin has denied. According to the prison service and Russian prosecutors, Navalny failed to check in with prison officials while he was recovering in Germany at the end of last year.
