Sugar Land's Simone Manuel swims her way to Rio Olympics

OMAHA, Nebraska – Simone Manuel finished in 2nd place of the 100 meter freestyle to punch her ticket to Rio.

This is her second shot at qualifying, after just missing out on a chance on Wednesday.

Another local swimmer who is going to the games is Cy Woods graduate Cammile Adams.

Adams won Thursday night's 200 meter butterfly to secure her second trip to the Olympics.

With the races taking place day after day, there's one important part that always has to be on point and working perfectly -- timing.

We spoke to one of the Omega Timing board members who talked about why everything has to be working like clockwork.

"You see, for us, it's the most important thing to give the right results to everyone who is participating here. And here there are 1,750 swimmers and each one has the right to get the right result. All around the world we are time keeping. But such a high level the Americans it's unbelievable," Peter Herzeler, an Omega Timing board member, said.
