The Sheriff’s Office says it will never call to demand payment of any kind including:

  • Gift cards
  • Wire transfers
  • Any other forms of money.

They add that any call requesting money or account details should be treated as a scam.

Officials advise anyone who gets a call claiming to be from the sheriff’s office to:

  • Hang up immediately
