HOUSTON – Houston police have released surveillance video and composite sketches of a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting at a car wash in southeast Houston.
The shooting happened around 12:20 p.m. July 17 at a car wash at 10890 Sabo Road, near Fuqua Street.

According to Houston police, the suspect approached a 43-year-old man, pointed a pistol at him and demanded money.
When the victim reached into his vehicle to get his wallet, police said the suspect shot him once in the stomach. The suspect then fled the area on foot.
A nearby Harris County Precinct 2 deputy constable heard the gunshots and drove across the street to the car wash. The deputy, who was in uniform and driving a vehicle with its emergency lights activated, spotted the suspect running away and followed him.
Police said the suspect turned around and fired several shots at the deputy’s vehicle, striking it more than once.
The deputy was not injured. The suspect then ran into an apartment complex, where the deputy lost sight of him.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police describe the suspect as a young Black male who was wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt and shorts. HPD has released two composite sketches and surveillance video in hopes someone can identify him.
