Two suspects wanted after being charged with murder in shooting near Sugar Land, HPD says

Victim identified as 39-year-old Sean Bree; homicide detectives ask public for tips on suspects’ whereabouts

HOUSTON – Houston police say a man and a woman have been charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting at a strip center parking lot on Saturday.

The shooting happened around 1 p.m. in the 10000 block of Belknap Road, according to the Houston Police Department.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot. He was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as Sean Bree, 39.

Fort Bend County authorities have filed murder charges against Iddris Umaru, 23, and Axzey Mojica, 22, HPD said. Police said both suspects remain out of custody as of this writing.

HPD Homicide Division detectives said investigators quickly identified Umaru and Mojica as persons of interest, and further investigation led to both being named as suspects.

Charges were filed Tuesday, June 9.
