Galveston ranked No. 1 fishing destination in United States

GALVESTON, Texas – Galveston may not have the best reputation for its murky waters, but for anglers, it appears to be one of the best places to spend time with family, especially during Father’s Day weekend.

According to FishingBooker, a popular platform that connects anglers with fishing guides, Galveston ranked as the No. 1 fishing destination in 2024 and currently leads all destinations in forward bookings for 2026.

The site analyzed booking patterns across three consecutive Father’s Day periods to identify destinations with the highest and most consistent angler demand.

The Gulf Coast dominated the rankings overall, claiming most of the top 10 spots across the Florida Panhandle, Alabama and Texas coastlines.

Galveston was nearly neck and neck with Destin, Florida, with the two destinations ranking as the most in-demand Father’s Day fishing spots in the country.
