HOUSTON – A body was discovered Monday morning near Brays Bayou in southwest Houston, prompting an investigation by the Houston Police Department.
According to HPD, officers responded shortly after 8 a.m. to a report of a body found near the bayou in the 8900 block of Country Creek Street, near Club Creek Drive.

When officers arrived, they located the deceased individual near the waterway.
HPD Homicide detectives and investigators with the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office were called to the scene to begin the investigation.
KPRC 2 captured a police presence still working near the scene Monday afternoon.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased or provided details on the circumstances surrounding the death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
