Charges have been filed against an 18-year-old suspect in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a 76-year-old man in northwest Houston over the weekend.
According to the Houston Police Department, the crash occurred around 3:55 p.m. Sunday in the 9900 block of North Houston Rosslyn Road.

Authorities said the victim, Rafael Navarro Jaurequi, 76, was attempting to cross the roadway from west to east when he was struck by a white Toyota Camry traveling northbound.
HPD investigators reported that the driver fled the scene after the crash. The Houston Fire Department responded and pronounced Jaurequi dead at the scene.
The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Eli Anthony Lobo Doblado, has been charged with failure to stop and render aid.
Police said Lobo Doblado later returned to the scene, where he was taken into custody by deputies with the Harris County Constable Precinct 1.
Following consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, charges were filed, and the suspect was booked into the Harris County Jail.
