Man and woman shot while driving home from gathering with children in car

Houston police are investigating after a man and a woman were shot while kids were inside the vehicle.

Fortunately, no kids were injured, but Houston police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of Bland in Northwest Houston around 12:30 a.m.

Officers said a man and woman called police after driving home with children in the car from a family gathering when they were shot.

Officers arrived and said that there were no signs of bullet holes on the outside of the car, but the woman suffered wounds to her chest and arm, and the man had a gunshot wound on his hand.

Officials said there was no firearm recovered at the scene.

HPD said the children were not injured and were safe. Both the man and woman were taken to the hospital, where officials said they are stable.
