HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Polls for Tuesday’s primary election closed at 7 p.m., but if you were in line before the clock struck 7, you are allowed to cast a vote.
This is exactly what has happened at over 20 voting centers in Harris County Tuesday evening.
Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth said as of 9:45 p.m., more than 20 voting centers were still allowing people to vote because of long lines at the locations.
Hudspeth says so far, they have had approximately 213,000 votes cast on election day.
Over 141,000 votes were cast for Democrats while over 71,000 votes for Republicans were cast in Harris County.
