2 injured during shootout on Eastex Freeway, both believing other vehicle was following them

Gunfire erupted between two cars traveling along the Eastex Freeway between Parker and Crosstimbers early Sunday morning, both believing they were being followed by the other vehicle.

According to police, both parties were coming home at around 2:45 a.m. from Deer Park/Pasadena, it is unclear if they were at the same location.

A woman and a man were both shot in the head and transported to a hospital. The woman is in critical condition in the ICU, while the man is in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
