HOUSTON – Bond has been set at $500,000 for Jazmin Cisneros, the mother of an 2-year-old girl brought to a Spring gas station last week, who continues to fight for her life.
Cisneros appeared in probable cause court Tuesday night on a charge of injury to a child. She’s accused of failing to seek medical attention after her boyfriend, Gerardo Gonzalez, allegedly beat her child multiple times.

On Saturday, Aug. 1, Cisneros allegedly noticed visible injuries to her daughter and Gonzalez admitted to hitting the girl in the head multiple times, according to records, which is when Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators believe the girl suffered a skull fracture.
Then on Thursday, Aug. 6, Gonzalez allegedly hit the girl in the chest, lower back, and butt, records indicate, which is when investigators believe she suffered a lacerated liver and broken pelvis.
“Despite obvious injuries that you observed the date of and the day after on this complainant, you continued to allow this co-defendant, your boyfriend to have access to this child, stating that you fear that he might go to jail if you reported,” a Harris County criminal law hearing officer said during the hearing. “He allegedly has admitted to assaulting this child a few days later causing even more severe injuries before you all realize that this child had become unresponsive and then you all sought medical attention.”
The evening of Aug. 6 the couple left their home on Rendezvous Court in Spring to take the unresponsive child to a hospital when they encountered deputy constables at a gas station on Cypresswood Drive and stopped to get help. The girl had to be flown to the hospital.
Cisneros allegedly told investigators she did not seek medical care or contact law enforcement after the Aug. 1 incident because she knew her boyfriend would “go to jail,” according to court records.
Gonzalez was also charged with injury to a child. His bond is set at $1 million and hers is set at $500,000. Court records indicate the 2-year-old is not expected to survive, but HCSO says as of Wednesday morning the girl remains critical.
