Traffic stop leads to arrest of suspect wanted for murdering man at Greenspoint bus stop

HOUSTON – A man wanted for murder is in custody after authorities conducted a traffic stop in northwest Harris County Monday, Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office said.

A deputy constable conducted a traffic stop on a driver in the 8400 block of W. Sam Houston Tollway North for operating a motor vehicle on a toll road while being prohibited. The driver was identified as 22-year-old Desmond Deshun Green.

Further investigation revealed Green had an open felony warrant from the Houston Police Department for failure to appear on a murder charge.

According to HPD, Green shot and killed a man during an altercation at a METRO bus stop in the 12200 block of Greenspoint Drive on Jan. 6.

Green was booked into the Harris County Jail for the warrant. His bail information has not yet been released.

According to the Harris County District Clerk’s Office, Green has previously been charged with burglary and assault on a family member in September 2018.
