BRENHAM, Texas – Three people are facing charges in the death of a Brenham-area state living facility resident who was found in a van in July.

Charlotte Washington, 58, Sylvia Pratt, 51, and Lacreshia Miles, 34, are all charged with murder.

The indictment says the three caused the death of Amy Parrish, who was disabled, by leaving her in the van in excessive heat conditions.

Parrish, 48, was found in the back of a van on the campus of Brenham State Supported Living Center July 12 after being missing for several hours, according to Texas Health and Human Services Commission spokeswoman Carrie Williams.

Williams said workers immediately started CPR. She said Parrish was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Williams said residents are commonly driven to appointments in the vans, but she said it was not clear how Parrish, who has lived at the facility since 1976, ended up in the van.
