Free sneak peek offered at new New Caney adventure park

NEW CANEY, Texas – A free sneak peek is being offered at the Gator Bayou Adventure Park in New Caney next month.

On Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., admission, parking and adventure rides will be free at the new park.

The adventure park features a zipline, floating course, maze, pony rides and gators.

Park officials said parkgoers will also get an opportunity to see Big Rivers Waterpark, which will be opening in the spring of 2019.

Plenty of food will be available for purchase. Tacos, barbecue, burgers and crepes are among the options.

Raccoon Run, Eagle Challenge and Big Rock Mining are pay-to-play and are not included in the free event.

Q. When you say the event is free, what exactly is free?

A. Admission and parking, Gator Gulch, *Big Al's Fishing Hole, Big Al's Farm, Pony Express, *Big Rock Mining, Bumper Blasters, Mystic Forest Maze, Hawk's Glide, Falcon Flight, Vulture's Dive, Cougar Climb, and Wild Isle. *Bait for Big Al's Fishing Hole is $2. Supplies for Big Rock Mining are not free.

Q. Can I still experience Raccoon Run and Eagle Challenge since it's not on the list?

A. Of course. However it is "pay to play." Racoon Run is $12.99 per person. Eagle Challenge is $24.99 per person.

Q. Are there age requirements for the attractions?

A. Yes and no. Most requirements are for minimum height and weight.

Q. Do I need to do anything before attending the event?

A. To expedite your access to attractions, Gator Bayou Adventure Park requires minors under 18 to have a signed waiver filled out by a parent or guardian. You can do that ahead of time by heading here, or fill it out at the park.

Q. Big Rivers Waterpark isn't open yet, but can I take a look at it?

A. Sure! Big Rivers Waterpark is scheduled to open in March 2019, but at the Sneak Peek event you can walk up to the waterpark and take a look at all of the cool slides, water features and cabanas the park will have.

Q. Can I bring in outside food and drinks?

A. No, outside food and drinks, coolers or glass containers may not be brought in to the park. Food and drink vendors will be located in the park. However, guests may bring personal food into the park if it is medically necessary (e.g., for diabetics, baby formula for infants, gluten-free foods, or allergy-safe foods for allergies).

Q. Can I purchase alcohol inside the park?

A. Yes, alcohol may be purchased at the Dragonfly Biergarten. Please bring a valid ID if you would like to purchase alcohol or use your credit card.

Q. What amenities are at the park?

A. Gator Bayou Adventure Park has shaded areas with picnic table seating or you may bring lawn chairs and sit under the trees near the Dragonfly Biergarten. The park also has several restroom facilities for guests.

Q. Are medical services available at the park?

A. First aid is located in the main building, adjacent to the bathrooms. First aid stations are located in the main building, adjacent to the bathrooms, and near the entrance to Gator Bayou.

Q. Is smoking permitted in the park?

A. Gator Bayou Adventure park is a smoke-free environment. Guests should refrain from both smoking and vaping within the park and within the entry building plaza.

Q. What time will the parking lot open?

A. The parking lot will open at 9 a.m. for visitors.

Q. I'd like to come back to Big Rivers Waterpark/Gator Bayou Adventure Park at a later date. Can I buy tickets or passes?

A. Yes! Please inquire about season passes, daily passes and tickets here.

Q. What if it's raining on November 3 for the Sneak Peek? Will there be another free Sneak Peek?

A. Yes. A rain date will be scheduled for a later time if there is inclement weather.
