HOUSTONHOT in Houston: It’s a home run, juicy strawberry-picking while you jam in your Jeep kind of weekend! As our “feels-like” highs hit the triple digits this weekend, you’ll definitely want to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

— Because nobody wants to be a dried-out berry in this heat. 🍓

WATCH YOUR FORECAST: How to plan your weekend!

Pasadena Strawberry Festival: An estimated 50,000 fans are expected to enjoy Pasadena’s juicy strawberries over the four-day event. Diamond Rio hits the main stage tonight at 8 PM. I’ve never been, but I’m thinking about going — so if you spot me in the crowd, come say hi! We can talk about strawberries, your thoughts on local news and of course the weather! I might make that a series for another time.

Jeep Week: Last year it drew massive crowds according to Galveston County, and with highs in the 80s, I’m sure you’ll notice plenty of folks enjoying the warm weather, breezy winds, and soaking their toes in the warm Gulf water. Coming from California where the water is cold, that’s my favorite part of the Gulf, outside of Hurricane season. TJ Parker is breaking down everything you need to know to plan for the weekend!

We will watch for a slight chance for rain just south of I-10 tonight as we get into the overnight hours.

Just watch for heavier law enforcement this year and traffic snarls. Plus, we are watching for dangerous RIP currents through Monday.

WATCH: We’re tracking a high risk of rip currents — if you find yourself stuck in one, swim parallel to the coastline and don’t fight it head-on.

And speaking of water — our weather pattern is shifting as we head into the workweek. Not ruling out isolated chances of rain for a very select few spots early, but rain chances ramp up especially Tuesday through Thursday (around 60% for some areas). We’ll see showers for some, not all, on other days too.
