HOUSTON – Cockroaches, Houston is famous for them, big ones, but they are dirty and carry bacteria and they are the last thing you want to see in any restaurant.
But at The Red Pier Asian Bistro and Bar, located at 2704 Milam Street, restaurant inspectors discovered what they termed a roach infestation.
They noted the presence of live roaches, dead roaches and rodents.
They found a live roach on the food prep table and found dead roaches on the floors and shelves throughout the food preparation area.
Up next it’s The Juice Box located on Bellaire Boulevard where inspectors came across more cockroaches.
They report finding roaches in a container above the sink, roaches near the sink and roaches on the floor near the freezer.
Moving on we find ourselves at Marco’s Pizza on Ella Boulevard where health inspectors noted a problem with rodents.
They found rodent droppings on the floor in the back of the building near the exit door.
You all know the Restaurant Report Card is right on time, but this week we are reporting on the restaurant Wright On Time located at the Greenspoint Mall.
Here inspectors found dead rats in the kitchen.
The order by health officials to the restaurant manager, “Remove dead rats in the kitchen.”
And we are wrapping up this report at Golden Dim Sum located on Bellaire Boulevard.
Here health officials found “food not safe for human consumption,” specifically pork, beef stomach and chicken, were all stored too warm.
All of it stored above 41 degrees.
And this week we are proud to salute the hard working crew at Pappadeaux, located at 12109 Westheimer Road for earning a perfect restaurant inspection.
That means we are awarding the restaurant with our A-Plus Award and that is awesome.
