Woman charged with capital murder in deadly shooting

HOUSTON – A 21-year-old woman is facing a capital murder charge in the fatal shooting of a woman found at 680 West Sam Houston Parkway South around 11 p.m. on Dec. 26.

Kenia Lashan Wilkins is accused of killing Meng Bo, 30, of Houston, who died at the scene.

Witnesses reported hearing a gunshot in the Camden Holly Springs apartment complex.

They then found Bo in the complex and attempted to provide medical assistance, police said.

Paramedics arrived a short time later and pronounced her deceased.

Witnesses said a dark-colored, four-door sedan sped away from the scene.

Police identified Wilkins as the suspect in the case and she was taken into custody without incident on Wednesday.
