KATY, Texas – Channel 2 has spoken with the mother 13-year-old Adriana Coronado, who was last seen with her father, Cesar Vladimir Coronado, around 1 a.m. Saturday in Katy.

An Amber Alert was issued for the missing teen after her father was found dead. Investigators found the badly burned body of Coronado Sunday around noon lying near a ditch on County Road 2989 near I-45 in Walker County. They say he had been shot to death and then his body was torched.

Adriana's mother is currently in Mexico to have surgery. She told Channel 2 that she heard the news about her daughter Sunday night, and has not heard from her husband either. She has not been told that he was found dead.

The mother said she spoke to her husband and daughter on the phone Friday evening, and the two were together. She said they seemed to be happy, and she did not get the impression that anything was wrong.

The mother also said that Adriana planned to have friends come over on Saturday, but when those friends arrived to the house, no one was home.

Adriana is described as Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet tall and weighs 105 pounds. She wears black framed glasses.

Anyone with information about Coronado's abduction is urged to contact the Walker County Sheriff's Office at 936-435-2400.
