Target ditches gender-based labeling; Sephora unveils beauty box subscription

HOUSTON – Target is getting rid of boys' and girls' labels across different departments after receiving complaints from customers about unnecessary gender-based signs.

Target made the announcement on Friday. Stores will remove references to gender by ditching the use of pink, blue, yellow or green paper on the shelves. The team will also rearrange inventory to phase out gender bias.

The retail giant is bringing the changes to the toys, home and entertainment departments. However, the apparel section will continue to differentiate between boys and girls.

Sephora has the perfect gift for makeup lovers. The beauty store is launching a monthly subscription next month. The $10 a month kit will contain five deluxe-sized products, a custom Spotify playlist, coupons and in-store perks.

The first box will include Sephora Collection Rouge Infusion lip gloss in Peony, Marc Jacobs Beauty gel crayon eyeliner in Blacquer, Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Face Crème, Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil and Glamglow Supercleanse facial cleanser.
