Fashion lovers have a reason to clean out their closets this week. The Houston Clothing Swap is set for May 24 from noon to 4 p.m. at Silver Street Studios in Sawyer Yards, offering an eco-friendly way to refresh a wardrobe without spending a fortune.
The event is open to adults, teens and all genders. Attendees are encouraged to bring gently used clothing items to exchange for new-to-them pieces.
Live music, food, beverages and local vendors will also be on-site to round out the experience.
The Houston Clothing Swap is organized by the Conscious Consumer Collective, a nonprofit dedicated to sustainability and accessible fashion.
Tickets for Sunday are available at CCCSwaps.com, where attendees can also select a timeslot.
To save yourself time when you go to shop, early donation drop-offs are being accepted Saturday, May 23 from 12 to 4 p.m.
Online, the Conscious Consumer Collective states its mission is to “create a community that celebrates conscious consumerism and makes the basic need for clothing accessible for all. It is rooted in sustainability through clothing swaps that cycle clothes through the community rather than clothes ending up in landfills.”
