HOUSTON – The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is wrapping up this weekend—but don’t put away your boots just yet! There’s still plenty of action, excitement, and fun to be had before the final curtain.
From thrilling livestock competitions and adorable llama & alpaca costume contests, to must-see rodeo entertainer performances and country music shows, the last few days are packed with moments you can’t miss.
The auctions have broken at least nine records so far this season, with the swine and steer auctions still to come.
Conroe native Parker McCollum takes the star stage tonight, followed by Tim McGraw tomorrow and Cody Johnson on Sunday. Guests can still experience the carnival thrills, and soak up all the Texas-sized energy one last time this season.
Also while all the rodeo action is happening, movie star Alexander Ludwig (Hunger Games, Bad Boys, Lone Survivor) has been on site filming opening scenes for upcoming western, ‘Billings,’ due out later this year. Other Billings stars include Carla Gugino (The Fall of the House of Usher), Grace Beedie (Five Feet Apart), Taylor Hickson (Deadpool, Motherland: Fort Salem), and James Jordan (Yellowstone, Wind River). We can’t wait to see the finished product when it’s done!
Watch as Lauren Kelly chats with Auction Director Laura Lambert all about this weekend’s live auctions, and Alexander Ludwig about his exciting time in Houston.
