HOUSTON – Hurricane season is here and CenterPoint Energy is constantly working to make our grid safer and more reliable.
CenterPoint has taken steps to harden our electric system by installing 26,000 stronger poles, undergrounding 400 miles of lines, trimming 6,000 miles of hazardous vegetation and installing 5,100 automated devices.
They’re also using new technologies to help customers stay informed before, during and after a storm.
Tony Gardner, senior vice president and chief customer officer with CenterPoint Energy, recently stopped by Houston Life to chat about hurricane preparedness.
