Take a tour of UNICEF’s immersive Heart Strings exhibit creating connections with children worldwide

HOUSTON – Did you know Houston is the child-friendliest city?

In August of 2023, UNICEF USA recognized Houston as the first child-friendly city in the nation.

That is why they unveiled their new, interactive exhibit in Houston first. It’s called Heart Strings by UNICEF.

Houstonians will be transported through eight zones showcasing children from around the world, six of which are interactive. Visitors are encouraged to play and touch the exhibit to create a global, collective song, bringing hearts together. You will experience heartbeats through light and sound, learn facts about childhood through a child’s voice, create a song based on selected words, illuminate an area with your voice, and dance with a confetti-like silhouette mimicking your movement.

Through the multi-sensory journey, families will also learn about the youth making impacts vital to their future in healthcare, education, climate change, and equity for girls.

From now until April 7, you can experience the exhibit with your kids locally and connect with kids globally.

Take a look at the exhibit in the video above.
