Tony-nominated one-woman show highlighting the life of Texas legend Ann Richards

HOUSTON – Starting Friday night, you can experience the life and legacy of the Texas legend, Ann Richards, at a one-woman show at Match Houston.

‘Ann’ by Holland Taylor is presented by The Garden Theatre, one of the newest Houston Theatres, dedicated to providing local actors a chance to shine while having day jobs. Founding Artistic Director of The Garden Theatre, Logan Vaden, saw the need to create a space where his friends and colleagues, referred to as semi-professionals, could practice their art. They produced shows like ‘Cruel Intentions,’ ‘New Beginnings,’ ‘Into the Woods, ’ and ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ and they’re back on stage tomorrow with the production of ‘Ann.’

The late Governor Ann Richards was a prominent figure in Texas history who served as the second female governor from 1991 to 1995. She is credited with reforming the prison system, advocating for women’s rights, and being known for her quick-witted humor. Nora Hahn, a local actress, was selected to portray Ann in the one-woman show written by Holland Taylor, who was also the original performer and an Emmy Award winner. You can see Nora as Ann on stage from February 2nd to the 11th. Click here to get your tickets today.
