HOUSTON – Voters across Harris County headed to the polls Tuesday, March 26, 2026, for the Texas Primary Runoff Elections to decide each party’s nominee in the Harris County Judge race after no candidate secured a majority vote during the March primary election.
The Harris County Judge position oversees the Commissioners Court and plays a major role in managing county government, emergency response and the county budget.
The runoff election determined which candidates would advance as the Democratic and Republican nominees ahead of the November general election.
Polling places ae open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, while early voting for the runoff election was held March 16–22.
Under Texas election law, voters who participated in one party’s primary election earlier this month were required to vote in the same party’s runoff election.
