LEAGUE CITY, Texas – The freezing cold weather did not stop a long line of shoppers looking to score a Nintendo NES Classic Edition game console.
The first Houston-area campers, Kristen and Alex Sifuentes, started lining up Monday afternoon in order to be the first to walk through the doors at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Best Buy on Gulf Freeway in League City.
The store stocked a limited number of the throwback consoles on its shelves just days before Christmas.
The NES Classic was released on Nov. 10. It sells for $59.99 but eager fans are buying them for much more on sites like eBay.
The system comes with 30 fan favorite games from "Mario Bros." to "The Legend of Zelda," plus a controller. The mini-console measures 5 inches by 4 inches by 1.6 inches.
