A dry Tuesday will give way to a messy mid-week morning drive Wednesday

Mostly dry conditions hold for now, but showers and thunderstorms become more likely by Wednesday.

Southeast Texas gets a brief break from widespread rain chances through Tuesday, with partly sunny skies and temperatures warming back into the upper 80s.

The next big storm chance arrives late Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing a higher chance for showers and thunderstorms across the region. Some storms could produce locally heavy rainfall, and we’ll continue monitoring the potential for isolated flooding concerns where repeated downpours develop.

Wednesday’s Wet Forecast:

Wednesday is shaping up to be the most active weather day of the week.

A disturbance moving into Southeast Texas will bring a widespread chance for showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Deep tropical moisture will also be returning, allowing some storms to produce heavy downpours.

It’s still too early to pin down exact locations or timing, but right now it looks to be in the morning. We’ll be watching for the potential for localized flooding and a few stronger storms as we move closer.

Wednesday's Messy Commute

Current forecast rainfall amounts generally range between 1 and 2 inches for many areas, although some isolated spots could pick up locally higher totals where storms repeatedly move over the same location.
