Texas sheriff indicted after probe into Black man's death
AUSTIN, Texas โ A Texas sheriff has been indicted on charges of destroying or concealing video in an investigation into the death in custody of a Black man, Javier Ambler, that was filmed by the police reality TV series โLive PD," prosecutors said Monday. The traffic stop was filmed for the real-time police show โLive PD," which was canceled by the A&E Network in June. โThe Live PD video would be wholly material to the investigation into use of force,โ Travis County District Attorney Margaret Moore said at a news conference. Chody, who said he would not step down while under indictment, said Live PD was never contacted by prosecutors for footage during the initial investigation.
Protesters take to the streets in Louisville after indictment in Breonna Taylor case
Ben Crump, a lawyer for Taylor's family, denounced the decision as โoutrageous and offensive,โ and protesters shouting, โNo justice, no peace!โ immediately marched through the streets. Taylor, an emergency medical worker, was shot multiple times by white officers who entered her home during a narcotics investigation. State Attorney General Daniel Cameron said that while the officers had a no-knock warrant, the investigation showed they announced themselves before entering. "This justification bars us from pursuing criminal charges in Miss Breonna Taylorโs death.โCameron said an FBI crime lab determined that Cosgrove fired the bullet that killed Taylor. ___This story has been updated to clarify that, according to the investigation, officers did not execute the warrant as a no-knock warrant, not that they didnโt use a no-knock warrant.

"That the grand jury is given an opportunity to see Rhogena and Dennisโ home is welcome news, but we also know that an independent forensic evaluation of the Harding Street incident is vitally necessary.โ
