Frustration and panic are growing for many formula-feeding parents as many store shelves continue to be empty or low on supply following the recall by formula maker Abbott, stemming from contamination concerns.

Some 29% of baby formula products were out of stock at retailers across the U.S. during the week of March 13, according to the firm Datasembly.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said on Monday that Abbott Laboratories recalled some Similac PM 60/40 cans and cases produced at a Michigan facility, after an infant who was exposed to the powdered baby formula died.
