Known for our boots, cowboy hats and bbq, the Lone Star state has been a hot commodity, but especially so in recent years. But... one city in particular is better than the rest, or so this study shows.

In the latest U.S. News & World Report’s Honor Roll, Houston Methodist Hospital was named in the best hospitals in the country ranking for the seventh time and tied for the No. 1 hospital in Texas.

The University of California, Berkeley’s law school on Thursday joined the law programs at Harvard and Yale in pulling out of U.S. News & World Report’s rankings over concerns that they punish efforts to attract students from a broad range of backgrounds.

Two Houston Independent School District high schools are among the top 100 in America, and eleven are in the top 100 in Texas, the district announced Wednesday.

U.S. News & World Report unveiled its “2021-22 Best Places to Live in the United States” list July 13, and, well Houstonians, this year’s ranking are a smidge tough to swallow: The Bayou City fell significantly, receiving a ranking of No. 39 this year -- 12 spots lower than the area’s No. 27 ranking in 2020.
