There are plenty of things for Lovejoy Volleyball to be proud of as the Leopards’ program has hosted many All-American athletes, many championship squads, and many Division 1 athletes, but where accolades are concerned: there are never too many! Lovejoy is celebrating after former volleyball athlete Averi Carlson was named as the Gatorade National Player of the Year!

It was another wild day at Globe Life Park with three differently, interesting games that unfolded. Aledo SurvivesThe talk around the Aledo team is that it was a down year. Denton Ryan and Highland Park. Except the game didn't really meet those loft expectations as Ryan (13-0) won a defensive struggle and kept Highland Park (11-1) under control for 95 percent of the game. Having downed Highland Park and every other challenger, Ryan is two steps away from completing its mission of "State or Bust."

Lovejoy capped an incredible 26-0 season last Saturday by winning the UIL State 5A Volleyball Championship in a 3-0 sweep over Fulshear. This marked the 8th state title win for the Leopards in the school's 14 years. Check out some of the best action shots from the game below!

With a 3-0 sweep over Lamar Fulshear in the UIL Conference 5A Volleyball State Championship game, the Lucas Lovejoy Leopards completed an unblemished season with a 26-0 record. Lovejoy has won 46 consecutive matches after ending the 2019 season with 20-straight victories for the 2019 state title. Lovejoy went head to head with Fulshear who - until Saturday afternoon - had not lost a set in a UIL State semifinal or final. With the win, Lovejoy claimed its incredible 8th program state title in 14 seasons. Lovejoy also becomes the 19th state champion in UIL history to finish a season completely undefeated.
