Planetary neighbors lining up nicely
Most of them are variable stars which are a study in themselves. Her story is a fascinating one, as the secrets of those variable stars. Cancer harbors three Messier Objects, the Beehive cluster and M 95 and 96. The last two are multiple galaxies that can only be seen with a dark site and good telescope, but the Beehive cluster is manageable with binoculars usually. It truly is a beehive of more than a thousand stars seemingly attempting to enter their hive.
myrgv.comInternational Space Station worth a look
It is amazing to stand out in the yard 225 miles below this football-field-size space science station and watch it as long as the sun reflects off its surface. An hour after the sun sets, look for golden Arcturus gleaming high overhead. In the NE, look for Vega, (VEE-ga) the brightest star in the constellation Lyra, the Harp. The brightest star in it is Vega. Deneb is the brightest star in the constellation called the Northern Cross, or the Swan, Cygnus.
myrgv.comBoeing capsule lands back on Earth after space shakedown
It was a quick trip back: The Starliner capsule parachuted into the New Mexico desert just four hours after leaving the orbiting lab, with airbags attached to cushion the landing. Aside from thruster failures and cooling system snags, Starliner appeared to clinch its high-stakes shakedown cruise, 2 1/2 years after its botched first try. NASA astronauts will strap in next for a trip to the space station.
news.yahoo.comRed-hued views just sunlight bent out of shape
Our moon, the planets, and the International Space Station, and often planes in flight, reflect sunlight off their various surfaces into the eyes of viewers. As that white sunlight passes through the protective atmosphere of earth, the colors within that light are scattered away, except for the band of red in the spectrum of white light. Hence, those colorful sunrises, sunsets, and lunar eclipses are just light that is bent out of shape. Common, but marvelous — even miraculous —that our system of the sun, Earth, and the moon can create such beauty together. The same opportunity was possible in San Antonio at the same time-and of course all the area between here and there.

The Infinite: Get closer look at International Space Station through The Infinite VR Experience
Houston is the home to human spaceflight, and it is fitting that it would be the first place in the US to feature a one-of-a-kind, multi-sensory, interactive virtual reality experience exploring inside and outside the world’s orbiting space laboratory--the International Space Station.
