Houston-area organization seeking to cover funeral expenses for victims of Astroworld Festival
A Houston-area non-profit organization that started in the middle of Hurricane Harvey in 2017 said it donated approximately $17,000 in funeral expenses for victims of Friday nightโs tragedy at Astroworld Festival.
Non-profit Crowdsource Rescue to help residents in Louisiana
HOUSTON โ A Houston non-profit organization is preparing to help those in the path of Hurricane Delta. The organization CrowdSource Rescue helps connect rescuers from all over the country to people in need during natural disasters. โTheyโre going out with these huge trucks, boats, chainsaws just looking to help people,โ said Matthew Marchetti, founder of CrowdSource Rescue. To request help or offer help, people can visit crowdsourcerescue.org/hurricanes. โWe do it faster and more efficiently and ultimately it means more people are getting help on the ground.โ

The Houston Independent School District, the Houston Food Bank, and Northwest Assistance Ministries are just some of the places where people can go to get food. The required Emergency Food Assistance Program forms will be filled out for each family and food will be placed directly in the vehicleโs trunk. Houston Food BankThe Houston Food Bank has multiple pantries where people can go and pick up food. In order to find a location, you will need to visit the Houston Food Bank website. Through a partnership with the Houston Food Bank, volunteers will deliver groceries and food to the homes of immunocompromised or elderly people in Houston who need assistance.
